Tammy Woodrow is a multidisciplinary performance artist whose mixed heritage has roots in Indonesia, Holland and England. Her practice moves fluidly between postcolonial critique, feminist theory, and deeply personal narrative, she uses her own body as both subject and site of inquiry. Drawing on autoethnographic methods, she transforms lived experience into a form of embodied research, reclaiming silenced histories and challenging inherited narratives of identity, belonging, and power. Her performances often unfold as immersive, time-based rituals—acts that blur the boundaries between art, activism, and testimony—inviting audiences to witness the intimate alongside the political. Through this interplay, she not only interrogates the lingering structures of colonialism but also creates spaces for empowerment, healing, and collective reimagining.
